The AM&S Generation Hagstrom Guitars...

The longer Fender Scale (Swede the Gibson scale),
Up-rated pickups,
A little coil-tapping switch instead of a tone toggle switch,
A zero fret for additional (eternal) sustain,
A sharper lower horn
 - a sharper all round model that commands high respect and value today.

I wonder what differences we can find between these two reissues...

From first view it seems the Swede has the higher spec headstock - sharper with more binding detail, and higher spec fretboard (double inlay at 12).  So, I am a little confused, and await more details soon. Again remember its a prototype...

It can be argued that new technology graphite composite nuts replace the need for a zero fret... a SuperSwede without the zero fret ... is just a Swede...Deluxe? and without a coil tapping switch a superior headstock for what used to considered the Super(ior)Swede, why do it at all? Sorry guys but this one is important.

Here are the pictures of the prototype SuperSwede which clearly show greater detail in body finish...
A two piece (if not book-matched) flamed maple (veneer) finish, and binding to the sides of the neck and body, interestingly the Swede does not appear to have a bound neck respecting the superior model here, although the headstock is more ornate???

Maybe this is something in the prototype pictures we have, we'll let you know more as soon as possible. Overall I'm pleased with what I see. Sound, feel, price and final specs have the key to this project... I'm still holding my breath...

28th August 2004: Since writing this, I have had the honour of communicating with David Lee the new Luthier on the project. Thankfully the different scale lengths will be restored as before on the final production models! I also hear say from Canada the coil tap will be there too... so what's one little fret eh? Give it the Superior distinction, or boy oh boy - those originals will soar even more!

P.S. Look at the front of the new company catalogues and adverts even... you know it makes sense!

This one has had me "to-and-fro"... I feel easier than I did done at one time...
but if there's going to be the FLAGSHIP model, then lets do it... please?
