Hagstrom Guitars Hagström Gitar

The AM&S Generation Hagstrom Guitars...

This section was supposed to be purely to provide pictorial representations of the new models. I have gone into a little detail here, for specific reasons on this model, but I have not played the new models yet. There is a dedicated site to visit with much more information. www.hagstromguitars.com

VIKING - SWEDE - HJ600 - HL550 - F200 - F200P - F300 - SUPERSWEDE - DELUXE
The HII / H-IIN / F200 Futura or even HG801 Special
 - (originals confused by name only)

I've said a lot in the F200 page about the combination approach. This model brings a few different points.

Here we see a pickguard which goes a long way to restoring the visual experience of the original Hagstrom models this emulates.

I still have the Headstock niggle which looks out of balance for me, especially when comparing the original. (That is probably just a matter of getting used to it).

So, just when you are holding your breath for an outrage about the tail, let me tell you, the original has everything to do with purity, and nothing to do with usefulness.

Yes, if this full contact system is as good as claimed, then it will be a pleasant relief to the modern player!  I certainly like the soap-bar type pickups, a throwback to the old style single coils, and I can even live with that selector switch... or have I got carried away now... hmmm... do you knock your Fender to 'bridge' position in error eh?

Again the contouring and tapering is there, you just can't tell from the pictures. Just look again at that headstock... (yes both versions)... OK so it's probably a personal thing :-)   Hell, I'm being sold on this despite the differences...

Hey I'm thinking... remove the whammy bar, lock the bridge (can you?), and I could get to love this one if it sounds good!

There's nothing like a REAL original Swedish made Hagstrom (and there are loads around), but if it 'floats your boat', or you can't find an original then who are we to say?

Plenty has been said already and
will be said forever forward probably.
Only you know what's right for you!
